Dr Ofa Dewes is Co-leader on the Taunakitanga Takitini programme and Leader of the Pacific project Lūsia ki taulanga. She is the inaugural Director of the Tongan Health Society’s Langimalie Research Centre in Auckland. Strong connections with Pacific nations and its peoples have influenced the direction of her research in ethnic-specific and culturally-centred studies across the life-span. Ofa works collaboratively across different disciplines and key stakeholders, including universities, service providers and policy makers, to help achieve better health and wellbeing outcomes for all. Born in Fiji, Ofa is part Rotuman/Tongan/Tuvaluan/Tokelauan with affiliation to Ngāti Porou.
