Policy and Practice Work | Policy and Advocacy

Healthcare in Aotearoa is rapidly transforming, which brings both excitement and anxiety. The health reforms, driven by the health and disability inequities evidenced in the Waitangi Tribunal Report 2019 (WAI 2575) and outlined in the Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Bill, present opportunities.

Often it is the disenfranchised and those who require ongoing healthcare support who may be “left behind” in times of rapid transformation. By embracing Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, we are working together with communities to find ways to do things differently to enable healthcare access for people who have been previously disadvantaged. Healthcare access that can support people to live well.
